CN, Canadian Pacific (CP), CSX and Union Pacific (UP) have been recognized as “sustainability leaders” through their inclusion in the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Also, Norfolk Southern (NS) is awarding $1 million in grants to 57 nonprofits in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.

CP Makes CDP A List Once Again

CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) has named Canadian Pacific to its A List for the second consecutive year, placing the railroad in the CDP group of companies “leading action on climate change globally.”

The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train program begins its 2022 live tour this week after two years of virtual concerts, with the first of two brightly decorated trains departing the Montreal area for the opening shows of the tour on Nov. 23 in Maine.

Report: City of Washington, Iowa Accepts CP Crossing Closure Counteroffer

In a unanimous vote, the Washington (Iowa) City Council has accepted a counteroffer from Canadian Pacific (CP) that would allow the city to secure city funds and “municipal cooperation” for the proposed CP-Kansas City Southern (KCS) merger, which would “increase train traffic by more than 300% in the area,” the Southeast Iowa Union reported on Nov. 21.

CP’s Creel: 2022, ‘A Tale of Two Halves’ (UPDATED, Cowen)

“Throughout the year, we have said 2022 would be a tale of two halves and that is exactly how it is unfolding,” Canadian Pacific (CP) President and CEO Keith Creel said on Oct. 26. “The third quarter saw strong demand in potash and intermodal that we anticipated, and CP was well-resourced to handle the volume increases we have seen.”
