Parsons announced it recently received a 2016 Grand Award in the transportation category from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona (ACEC AZ) for its work on Valley Metro’s Central Mesa Light Rail Extension project. The award recognizes engineering firms for successful delivery of complex projects that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, achievement, and value.
Jannet Walker Ford, Vice President and North America Director of Policy and Strategic Programs at Parsons, has been elected to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Board of Directors.
Parsons announced that Gill Mosseri recently joined the corporation as Vice President and New York Region Business Development Manager for its Infrastructure business unit (BU).
William “Bill” Crosbie has rejoined Parsons Corp. as Senior Vice President and Business Development Director for its Transport Division, which provides full-service engineering and management services in rail transit, ports and harbors, and aviation.
Parsons has appointed Harjinder S. “Harj” Dhaliwal as Senior Vice President, International Rail Transit & Systems, with responsibility for the business unit and its operations outside of the U.S. He is based in Parsons’ Abu Dhabi office.
Parsons announced on April 14, 2016 that the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently honored the corporation with the Alliant Build America Award in the civil construction management category for its work on the Houston Metro Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. The design-build project—the largest public works program in the city’s history—extended Metro’s 7.5-mile rail service by 15 miles with the addition of three new rail lines through downtown Houston, Tex.
Metra, Chicago’s commuter rail operator, has awarded Parsons a contract to install Positive Train Control (PTC) technology on its commuter rail lines.
Parsons has hired David Nichols, former Director of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), as Vice President, Transportation Program Director, the company announced on July1, 2015.
