California’s North County Transit District (NCTD) has launched five new Siemens Charger locomotives and several renovated Bombardier cars into COASTER regional/commuter rail service between Oceanside and downtown San Diego.
A comprehensive performance audit of San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) operations performed by the State of California found full compliance, with auditors “lauding MTS as positioned well for continued responsible financial management,” the agency said on June 20, 2016.
The San Diego Association of Governments’ (SANDAG) Board of Directors released the draft version of San Diego Forward: The Regional Plan, which provides the big-picture vision of how the region will grow over the next 35 years and an implementation program to make that vision a reality. The plan, which was released on April 24, 2015 will be open for public review and comment.
