Railcar Owners Seek STB Demurrage, Accessorial Rules Changes

Four organizations representing private freight car owners have petitioned the Surface Transportation Board to institute a rulemaking that would update the demurrage and accessorial rules governing the railroads’ use and handling of their equipment.

AAR, Railinc, Ag Shippers Team on Food Safety

The Association of American Railroads (AAR), Railinc and a coalition of agricultural shippers will launch in late 2021 an online portal that will provide greater visibility into the most recent commodities hauled in covered hoppers.

Senate Commerce Gets An Earful of Rail

The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on Oct. 21 convened a hearing on the state of the U.S. passenger and freight rail network.
