BLET Members Voting on Two New G&W Contracts

Contract ratification votes are under way for Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members at Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad (M&NA) and Portland & Western Railroad (PNWR), both of which are Genesee & Wyoming (G&W) subsidiaries.

G&W Canada Acquires BMS Locomotive Service Group

Alberta, Canada-based BMS Locomotive Service Group is now part of Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc., a subsidiary of short line holding company Genesee & Wyoming (G&W) Inc. Acquisition terms were not disclosed.

CPKC: Investor Day Highlights; New CSX/G&W Agreement

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) on Investor Day, June 28, announced a new joint service agreement with CSX and involving Genesee & Wyoming that will create a direct CPKC-CSX interchange connection in Alabama and a corridor linking Mexico, Texas and the U.S. Southeast. At Investor Day, the transnational issued new multi-year guidance and “unveiled the next chapter in its long-term growth strategy as the only single-line railroad that connects a continent.”

Wabtec Wins G&W Order for ‘Pre-Owned’ Power

Wabtec on June 27 reported that it will deliver 69 “certified pre-owned” locomotives this year to six of Genesee & Wyoming Inc.’s U.S. subsidiaries in a deal that includes an extended warranty.

TTX has begun installing Nexxiot GPS devices on its new-build TBOX high-capacity boxcar fleet. The company expects as many as 1,700 boxcars to be equipped in 2023, and will also be equipping several hundred multi-level autoracks (pictured).
