Transportation industry attorney William “Bill” Mullins launches Mullins Law Group PLLC, based in Washington, D.C. Also, Ray Verrelle joins HNTB as Senior Project Director and Vice President, supporting the firm’s transit and rail practice; STV appoints Scot Sibert as Vice President, South/Central Transit Director; and TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, elevates Whitt Hall to President and CEO and Clint Holley to Chief Operating Officer.

The $10 billion SCORE program will upgrade Metrolink’s Southern California regional/commuter rail system ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

HDR SCOREs Metrolink Program Manager Contract

The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) has selected HDR as program manager for Phase 1 of its SCORE (Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion) capital improvement program. HDR had been serving as interim program management consultant since August 2019.

NYMTA to “Supplier’s 11”: You’re “In Jeopardy”

New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Chairman and CEO Patrick J. Foye sent warning letters to MTA’s 11 largest suppliers on Sept. 17. “The COVID-19 pandemic has exacted a horrific toll in human, social and economic terms across the nation,” he noted in the letters. “I am writing to alert you that because of this financial devastation, many current and all future contracts are in jeopardy without an injection of $12 billion in emergency federal aid.”
