Organizers for Railway Interchange 2015, held in Minneapolis, Minn. on Oct. 4-7, 2015, announced today that total registered attendance for the USA-based combined exhibition and technical conference reached 9,571, a new record.

Scott Commo elected to REMSA board of directors

The Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) announced Oct. 14, 2015 the election of a new director, Scott Commo, to join the REMSA board of directors. The election took place at the REMSA Annual Membership Meeting last week in conjunction with Railway Interchange 2015 in Minneapolis, Minn.

A visit with NRE at Railway Interchange 2015

RSI elects three new board members

Tom Simpson, President of the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), announced Oct. 8, 2015 the election of three new members to the board of directors at the annual meeting held during this week’s Railway Interchange 2015 in Minneapolis. The new board members are: Jason Connell, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, New York Air Brake; Adam Lent, Assistant Vice President, Supply Chain, TTX Company; and William P. O’Donnell, Executive Director of Global Sales, Miner Enterprises.

Pinpoint battery problems with REC’s battery monitor

The Federal Railroad Administration requires grade crossing warning equipment backup battery systems to undergo inspection and load testing every 30 days, and does not allow any time frame flexibility. Railway Equipment Company has developed a remote battery cell monitor that can eliminate errors that sometimes occur during the inspection process, where each battery cell must be individually tested with a meter by a signal maintainer.

Whiting’s Heldt elected LRIW President

The League of Railway Industry Women has elected Jodi Heldt, a 20-year customer service veteran with railcar maintenance equipment manufacturer Whiting Corp., as President at its annual conference, held at Railway Interchange 2015 in Minneapolis. She was previously LRIW Second Vice President.
