Willis-Freedman, Nystrom Advance at Skanska USA

Global construction and development firm Skanska USA has promoted Erin Willis-Freedman to Vice President Human Resources-Civil Operations, and Brad Nystrom to Vice President Operations-Civil West Region. Willis-Freedman succeeds Nystrom.

MBTA South Coast Rail Project Advances

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has announced the lowest bidder for a $403 million contract for work on the Middleborough Secondary & New Bedford Main Line (MS/NBML) section of its South Coast Rail project. South Coast Rail Constructors, a consortium of Littleton, Mass.-based Middlesex Corporation and Los Angeles-based Tutor Perini, was identified by MBTA as the lowest bidder and is expected to be awarded the contract for the commuter rail extension.

Mid-Coast Transit Contractors awarded $921.8 million San Diego contract

Skanska announced on September 30 that Mid-Coast Transit Contractors – a joint venture of Stacy and Witbeck, Herzog and Skanska – has been awarded a $921.8 million construction manager/general contractor contract from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) to construct the Mid-Coast Trolley.

LA Expo Line Phase 2 certified “green”

The Los Angeles County MTA (LACMTA) Expo Line Phase 2 LRT extension has become the first transit project to receive Envision™ Platinum certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI).
