TRRA, R&N Take Home Short Line/Regional of the Year Awards
Railway Age’s 2020 Short Line and Regional Railroads of the Year are the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) and Reading & Northern Railroad (R&N), respectively. Delmarva Central Railroad Company (DCR) and Vermont Rail System (VRS), respectively, earned Short Line and Regional Honorable Mentions.
Judge rules in RBMN vs. SEDA-COG JRA lawsuit
On August 12, 2016, Northumberland County (Pennsylvania) President Judge Charles Saylor ruled that one claim in Reading & Northern’s multi-claim lawsuit against the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority (JRA) could go forward. Other allegations were dismissed.
RBMN acquires Locust Valley Line; promotes Susan Ludwig
Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad (RBMN) announced it acquired the 5.5 mile Locust Valley Line effective June 8, 2016.
PA grants Reading & Northern bridge creation
The construction of a modern railway bridge across the Lehigh River to create a connection between two divisions of Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad (RBMN) has been assured with the announcement of a second $5 million grant by the Pennsylvania State Transportation Commission.
R&N to own, operate track in Humboldt Industrial Park
Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad (R&N) announced on Nov. 24, 2015 that it will take over ownership of the rail infrastructure at the Humboldt Industrial Park beginning Jan. 1, 2016 through an agreement with the park’s owner, CAN DO, Inc., according to CAN DO President Kevin O’Donnell and Andrew Muller, Jr., owner and CEO of the rail company.
