RDC, whose companies include Iowa Interstate Railroad and Pop-Up Metro, LLC, has become the eighth member of the RailPulse Coalition.

RDC Joins RailPulse Coalition

RailPulse has an eighth member: Pittsburgh, Penn.-based railway investment and management company Railroad Development Corporation (RDC), which on Oct. 19 joined the coalition established in late 2020 to “develop, broaden and accelerate the use of GPS and other telematics technologies in North America’s freight rail industry.”

HDR’s Andre Lauzier has been appointed to the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Transportation Committee. Also, Juan de Dios Olaechea has joined Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Railroad Development Corporation (RDC) as Managing Director-International Business Development; and Doug Carr is the incoming President and CEO of Union Station Redevelopment Corporation (USRC) in Washington, D.C.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) appointed Jenny Barket as Chief of Staff. Also, Railroad Development Corporation (RDC) Vice President of Operations William J. Duggan retired; A. Stucki Company named Michael Scott Driggers Division President of Freight; and Michel Ladrak will step down as President and General Manager of British Columbia Rapid Transit Company (BCRTC), an operating division of TransLink.

RDC, iCON Form IAIS Partnership

Railroad Development Corp., the Pittsburgh-based railway investment and management company with interests in railways and related businesses in the Americas and Europe, on Dec. 31, 2020 entered into a strategic partnership with iCON Infrastructure LLC, an independent investment firm focused on investments in core infrastructure businesses across North America and Europe. iCON Infrastructure Partners V will acquire a 40% stake in Class II Iowa Interstate Railroad (IAIS). RDC will remain majority owner of IAIS and together with iCON V “will continue to support its strong management team and dedicated workforce in providing best-in-class service to IAIS’ diverse customer base.”

RDC Launches New German Overnight Service

The German subsidiary of Railroad Development Corporation (RDC) has announced the launch of a new, twice-weekly international overnight train service between northern Germany, Bavaria and Austria.
