Northern Lines Railway (NLR) recently announced that Quentin Schulte has joined the short line railroad as General Manager, bringing a “wealth of railroad operating experience” along with “enthusiasm for a new challenge.”
University of Denver Graduate Students Visit Pacific Harbor Line
Master’s Degree students in the University of Denver’s (DU) Transportation and Supply Chain Institute toured short line railroad Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) for an entire week in July to “experience the transportation industry at one of its critical nerve centers.”

ASLRRA Honors 3 Anacostia Affiliates With Jake Awards
The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) announced three Anacostia affiliates—Louisville & Indiana Railroad Company; Northern Lines Railway, LLC, for the seventh year in a row; and Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad Company for the sixth year in a row—as winners of the Jake or Jake With Distinction Safety Awards for strong safety performance in 2019.
