Recent research has found that air quality in Toronto’s subway system is comparable to the quality found in other large underground rail systems, and in some cases is better than other major subway systems such as New York City and Boston, according to TTC.

Study: Torontonians Breathe Easier in the Subway

New subway cars with reduced-friction braking and communications-based train control (CBTC) have contributed to improved air quality on Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) trains and platforms, according to a report from the University of Toronto (UofT), Health Canada, and National Research Council Canada.

Advanced Rail Management will review existing wheel/rail profile compatibility; analyze rail profile and wear conditions; and design and execute a rail grinding program to remove defects, enhance vehicle steering through curves and reduce noise for San Diego Trolley.

San Diego MTS, ARM Ink Rail Maintenance Contract

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) has signed a five-year contract with Advanced Rail Management Corp. (ARM) for the San Diego Trolley Inc. (SDTI) rail maintenance program, including rail grinding on all open and embedded track sections and special trackwork.
