William E. (Bill) Greenwood, a former Burlington Northern executive most associated with the railroad industry leadership he provided for the intermodal business, died on Sept. 22, 2023. He was 85.

Gaskins, Hagen, Krebs Inducted into NRRHF
Three iconic rail industry veterans—Darius W. Gaskins, Jr., Robert D. Krebs and James A. Hagen—were inducted into the National Railroad Hall of Fame (NRRHF) in a Nov. 8 ceremony at BNSF Railway headquarters in Fort Worth, Tex. The organization inducts rail industry people annually based on its Rail Industry Advisory Group recommendations.
From Edward G. Budd to Bombardier Transportation
The National Railroad Hall of Fame has inducted Edward Gowen Budd, founder of the Edward G. Budd Manufacturing Co. in Philadelphia in 1912. Bombardier Transportation, which acquired the Budd Co.’s passenger railcar designs and related assets of its mass transit equipment division in 1987, accepted the award on Edward Budd’s behalf during an Oct. 27, 2015 ceremony at St. Louis Union Station.
