
PNW Railcars: ‘Only Our Name Has Changed’

Railcar leasing, maintenance and management firm MUL Railcars, Inc., has changed its trade name to PNW Railcars, Inc., effective Dec. 1.
The New England Railroad Club (NERRC) Executive Committee is honoring Patricia Quinn, Executive Director of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA), for her commitment to passenger rail service; Reading & Northern’s (RBMN) Rian Nemeroff, Susan Ludwig and Jim Cerulli are taking on new marketing and sales responsibilities; and Ilyssa DeCasperis and Bradley DeVault are joining Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) and MUL Railcars, Inc., respectively.
Phillip W. Thompson has joined MUL Railcars, Inc. (MULR), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited (MUL), as Vice President Business Development. Thompson comes to MULR from his most recent role as a Director in the Capital Markets group of Trinity Rail, where during eight years he held various roles in finance, strategy, capital markets and services. In his new role at MULR, Thompson is responsible for investment and services strategy, portfolio management and general management activities.
Rail industry veteran Theodore W. “Ted” Baun will be joining MUL Railcars, Inc. (MULR), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited (MUL), as Chief Commercial Officer, effective July 1. He will be responsible for fleet utilization, revenue generation and customer support operations, as well as “playing an integral role as part of the corporate leadership of MULR in planning and architecting the growth of the platform and the fleet as we drive toward our near-term objective of having a 25,000-car portfolio by the end of 2020,” the company said.
