LRIW seeking applications for annual scholarship
The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) on April 13, 2016 announced that it will once again be offering its Annual Scholarship to individual members, employees of corporate members and to the dependent children of LRIW members. The LRIW says it recognizes the importance of education and is proud to offer financial assistance to students working to achieve their academic goals. This year, one scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to the best-qualified candidate.
LRIW seeks nominations for board of directors
The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) announced Nov. 17, 2015 that it is seeking candidates to serve on the organization’s board of directors. The LRIW board represents a cross-section of companies involved in all aspects of railroading—freight railroad or transit authority, supplier, contractor, consultant, trade association and trade press.
Whiting’s Heldt elected LRIW President
The League of Railway Industry Women has elected Jodi Heldt, a 20-year customer service veteran with railcar maintenance equipment manufacturer Whiting Corp., as President at its annual conference, held at Railway Interchange 2015 in Minneapolis. She was previously LRIW Second Vice President.
