STB: Five Class I’s Revenue Adequate for 2022

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) has found five U.S. Class I railroads to be revenue adequate for 2022: BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Soo Line (the U.S. affiliate of Canadian Pacific), and Union Pacific.

Railroad Cost of Capital Set at 10.58% for 2022

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) has determined that the cost of capital for the railroad industry was 10.58% for 2022.

CPKC Issues 2023-24 Grain Service Outlook Report

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) on July 31 published its Grain Service Outlook Report, as required by section 151.01(1) of the Canada Transportation Act. It provides an assessment of the newly merged Class I’s ability to move grain during the 2023-24 crop year, taking into account the total volume of grain expected to be hauled.
