Gary Thomas Joins H.W. Lochner

Former Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) President/Executive Director Gary Thomas has signed on to become National Transit and Rail Market Director for H.W. Lochner, Inc. (Lochner), a Chicago, Ill.-based infrastructure planning and engineering firm.

Transit Briefs: NYMTA, Sound Transit, VPRA, WMATA

New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is testing “no standing” zones on New York City Transit (NYCT) subway platforms to help eliminate rider assaults on conductors. Also, Seattle’s Sound Transit is beginning simulated service on the Hilltop Tacoma Link Extension; Jacobs will deliver general engineering consulting services for passenger rail under the Transforming Rail in Virginia infrastructure program; and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) mulls expansion options.

Gary Thomas, former Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) President/Executive Director, is taking on a new role: U.S. Transit Market Leader at Jacobs, a professional services firm.

Stantec and Jacobs will provide program control services for four Toronto projects, including the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (rendering shown).

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have awarded the 360 Transit Alliance Joint Venture, comprising Stantec and Jacobs, a program control services contract for four TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) projects, valued at C$28.5 billion (US$22.07 billion).
