Hoosier State reverting to Amtrak equipment, services

Amtrak’s Hoosier State passenger train, which operates four days per week between Indianapolis and Chicago, will revert to railcars, locomotives and on-board services supplied by Amtrak beginning March 1, replacing equipment and services that had been provided by Iowa Pacific Holdings.

Railroads operated by Iowa Pacific Holdings LLC carried nearly 400,000 passengers during the holiday season, and the company is the largest franchisee of the Warner Brothers Polar Express™ brand, both in locations and number of passengers. Iowa Pacific operates holiday trains in 13 locations, including nine with the Polar Express™ franchise and four with Train to Christmas Town.

Iowa Pacific, Holdtrade (UK) Ltd. form Colombian joint venture

Iowa Pacific Holdings, LLC, and Holdtrade (UK) Ltd. of Greenwich, England, have formed a new company, Holdtrade Atlantico, to apply for rail freight operating licenses in Colombia. The new company was introduced during a July 12 press conference in Bogota, the Columbian capital.
