Herzog President Jim Hanlon has been elected to the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s (ASLRRA) Board of Directors; HDR promoted Sam Tso to Western Region Transportation Director; and Transit Wireless named Jyoti Mahurkar-Thombre Chief Technology Officer.

The Los Angeles International Airport’s 2.25-mile Automated People Mover (APM) will use a traction energy storage system for backup power when it opens in 2023.

HDR Selected as Technical Advisor for Ontario Line

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have selected the HDR-led team to serve as technical advisor for the approximately C$10.9 billion TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) Ontario Line in Toronto. This nearly 16-kilometer, free-standing subway line, with 15 proposed stations, will run from Ontario Place/Exhibition Place through downtown Toronto to the Ontario Science Centre.

WTS Chapter Honors HDR’s Reece

The Women’s Transportation Seminar Inland Empire Chapter (WTS-IE) has named HDR’s Lisa Reece as 2019 Woman of the Year, the first time in the chapter’s history that a woman from the private sector has been honored.
