GoRail: What IIJA Means for Railroads

On Nov. 15, President Joe Biden signed the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), described by rail advocacy organization GoRail as “a momentous, bipartisan bill for fixing and improving U.S. roads, bridges, waterways, airports and other infrastructure systems, and reauthorizing surface transportation programs for the next five years.”

AAR, GoRail Honor Clyburn

The Association of American Railroads and GoRail have presented House of Representatives Majority Whip Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) the Railroad Achievement Award “for his longstanding leadership on surface transportation issues, including matters that directly and indirectly affect both freight and passenger railroads in South Carolina and across the nation.” AAR President and CEO Ian Jefferies presented Rep. Clyburn with the award at the North Charleston Intermodal Transportation Center.

AAR Honors Rhode Island’s Reed

Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (T-HUD) Ranking Member Jack Reed has received the Railroad Achievement Award from the Association of American Railroads and GoRail “in recognition of his continued leadership on issues directly and indirectly affecting freight and passenger railroads.” AAR President and CEO Ian Jefferies presented Reed with the award on Oct. 22 in his Washington D.C. Senate office.

AAR, GoRail honor Rep. DeFazio

The Association of American Railroads and advocacy organization GoRail have honored Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) with the Railroad Achievement Award.

Norfolk Southern unveils GoRail locomotive

GoRail and Norfolk Southern on March 12, 2014 unveiled a specially painted locomotive commemorating the 10th anniversary of GoRail, the non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to educating the public about the benefits of moving more freight by rail.
