CP ratifies DM&E BLET agreement

Canadian Pacific Railway on Dec. 3, 2015 ratified a multi-year collective agreement with the 300 locomotive engineers, assistant engineers, conductors and brakemen on CP U.S. subsidiary Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railway (DM&E) represented by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET).

CP to sell DM&E right-of-way to GWI

Canadian Pacific and Genesee & Wyoming, Inc., in a joint announcement Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, said they had “executed an agreement pursuant to which CP will sell the west end of its Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern (DM&E) line to G&W for continued rail operations.”

CP’s Harrison: A “mid-60s” operating ratio by 2016

Hunter Harrison outlined his plan for taking the railroad out of last place among North American Class I’s in terms of operating ratio, productivity, cost structure, business growth, and other performance measurements.

CP to explore options for DM&E west end

Canadian Pacific on Tuesday announced its intention to explore strategic options for its main line track from Tracy, Minn., west into South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming, and is inviting expressions of interest from prospective partners.
