Also, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Cincinnati Connector Streetcar will receive funding through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Areas of Persistent Poverty Program; and New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will increase subway fares and implement recommendations of the Blue-Ribbon Panel Report on Fare and Toll Evasion.

CTA Awards $15.3MM for Austin Green Line Station Improvements

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) on July 12 announced that it has awarded a $15.3 million contract to John Burns Construction Company, LLC for the renovation of the Austin Green Line station,

CTA is starting a nearly three-month project on the Blue Line’s Forest Park Branch that will replace 15,000 feet of track between the LaSalle and Illinois Medical District stations; demolish and begin rebuilding the Racine station to meet modern accessibility guidelines; and upgrade the traction power system. CTA to Kick Off Final Major Phase of Lawrence to Bryn Mawr Modernization Project

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) will begin construction on four new, fully accessible stations at Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr to replace century-old stations, and start rebuilding southbound Red and Purple tracks.
