Watco Again Earns Spot on ‘Most Loved Workplaces’ List

Pittsburg, Kans.-based Watco has been named to Newsweek’s Global Most Loved Workplaces® 2023 list. The integrated freight transportation services provider ranked No. 67 out of 100 top companies that “put respect, caring and appreciation for their employees at the center of their business model and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty and respect of the people who work for them,” according to the magazine.

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly on April 12 reported via Twitter: “It was a pleasure to be in Hugoton today to break ground on a $15M project to upgrade the Cimarron Valley Railroad. This makes food and fuel transport across southwest Kansas easier and more efficient than ever, boosting our agriculture industry and economy.”

North Shore Railroad—Railway Age’s 2017 Short Line of the Year—ran its first train to Kreamer, Pa., on May 4.
