The Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh has renewed its grant funding for Operation Lifesaver, Inc.’s (OLI) U.S. rail safety education campaigns.

Specifically, the 2021 funds will support a competitive grant program for public education activities conducted by OLI state programs; state educational materials; and an expanded rollout of OLI’s new Railroad Investigation and Safety Course (RISC). The Foundation also provided grants in 2019 and 2020, which supplemented state program funding for OLI rail safety initiatives and helped expand national rail safety volunteer efforts, for example.

“Thanks to the continued support of the Posner Foundation of Pittsburgh, our safety message has been shared with millions of Americans,” OLI Executive Director Rachel Maleh said.

“The Posner Foundation’s continued support of Operation Lifesaver reflects our belief in both its mission and its effectiveness,” Posner Foundation Chairman Henry Posner III said. “As much as we would like to think that common sense always prevails, in today’s environment people need constant reminders that situational awareness is important no matter where you are or what you’re doing.”
