Protran appoints Bunting Deputy Director, Field Engineering and Training

Protran Technology, a division of Harsco Rail, has appointed Clay A. Bunting as Deputy Director, Field Engineering and Training to develop the company’s growing range of safety technology for track workers and track inspection technology.

“Clay Bunting comes with a wealth of experience within the transit Industry, having spent the past 35 years as a transit and railroad professional at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, where he held several senior level positions including General Superintendent Track and Structures, and Director, Capital Programs and Planning,” said Vice President of Business Development Peter Bartek. “He has an extensive background in track and structure infrastructure maintenance, inspections and rehabilitation. He served as Chairman of WMATA’s Roadway Worker Protection Task Force and Chairman of RWP Committee where he was lead in the development of WMATA’s award-winning RWP Program, which earned an APTA Gold Star Safety Award.”

Bunting joins Protran “to continue our recent success providing leading advance warning technology for track workers and train operators and also expand our field engineering and training for track inspections and technology for emergency safety/security autonomous transit vehicles as well as special sensor technology to prevent train derailments,” said Bartek. “Clay’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge has already made him a key addition to the Protran Technology family.
