Kirk Klug and Marko Kroenke have been named as the business development directors for the U.S. and Canada for Ricardo Rail Division.
Ricardo is a global engineering and environmental consultancy that specializes in the transport, energy and scarce resources sectors.
Klug joins Ricardo as Director of Marketing and Business Development for Passenger Rail in the United States. He has more than 28 years of experience in the design, production, testing and commissioning of transit systems and vehicles across the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as supporting projects in Asia and Europe. Klug has served in senior positions at Stadler US, Siemens Mobility and Alstom Train Life Services. Most recently, he was Director of Business Development at the Transportation Technology Center, Inc., in Colorado, with responsibility for building a client portfolio in the passenger transit and emerging technologies space.
Kroenke becomes Director of Business Development, Canada. He is Ricardo’s first senior representative to be based in the Canadian market. Kroenke has 20-plus years of international experience in the rail sector, including senior product, engineering and innovation roles at both Alstom and Bombardier Transportation. More recently, he has served in consultancy roles for projects ranging from the development of a hybrid battery-super-capacitor to the technology assessments of a people-mover system in Singapore.
Klug and Kroenke will build local teams and “draw upon the support of Ricardo’s rail experts across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, including specialists in systems engineering, project delivery, rolling stock integration and train control technology migration, among other service offerings,” according to the firm.
