CTA extends Cubs’ victory lap
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefThe Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has decked out a CTA train and bus with special Chicago Cubs World Series décor to celebrate the world champion Chicago Cubs and continue the celebration in the City of Chicago this week.
The CTA has wrapped four rail cars and a CTA bus with complete exterior designs featuring the famous blue “W” and Cubs logos to celebrate the first Cubs World Series victory since 1908. The train will be put into service on the Red Line, which includes the Addison station near Wrigley Field, beginning on Monday for a week. The bus will run for a week on the #152 Addison route, which also brings fans to the ballpark.
“We want to continue the celebration in Chicago with our customers by offering a special train and bus that commemorates the Cubs World Series victory, especially on the train and bus routes that carries millions to Wrigley Field during this unforgettable season,” said CTA President Carter. “We look forward to celebrating with our customers and allowing them to extend the celebration into next week.”
The CTA offered a similar commemoration in for the Chicago White Sox 2005 World Series victory, after which two White Sox-themed rail cars ran on the Red Line.
