On June 21, 2019, the long-awaited ION LRT will formally enter revenue service for Ontario, Canada’s Waterloo Region. Leading up to the start of service, Bombardier Flexity LRVs will be operating in daytime service mode, with trains every 10 or so minutes.

Once operating, frequent service will occur during morning and evening rush hours, with trains operating on five-minute headways. Service will be free from June 21 through July 1 (Canada Day). The regular cash fare price is C$3.25, and discounts are available for multiple trip purchases or farecards.
