Gangemi joins HNTB as Senior Project Manager, AVP

HNTB Corp. announced April 8 that Alexa Gangemi, P.M.P., has joined the infrastructure firm as a Transit/Rail Senior Project Manager and Associate Vice President, based in the company’s New York City offices.

Gangemi has more than 20 years’ experience working with systems technologies such as fare payment, crew management and asset management. In addition to managing existing transit/rail projects in the New York area, “Gangemi also works with clients to identify, select and implement new technologies that help support business process improvements,” the company said.

She also has experience with transit agencies in Texas, Virginia and Maryland. Her background “encompasses the implementation of technologies used for fare collection, rail crew management, dispatching and timekeeping processes.” Also, Gangemi has served as the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) director of strategic planning.

Gangemi holds a master’s in civil and environmental engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a bachelor’s in mathematics from Cornell University. She is the Greater New York Chapter President of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and also served as 2017 chair of the WTS annual national conference.
