Ungerer Joins HNTB as Project Director, AVP

Dr. Janet Ungerer, Ph.D., P.E., has joined HNTB Corp. as Project Director and Associate Vice President in the firm’s Baltimore office.

Ungerer has more than two decades of systems engineering, integration, design and implementation experience for transportation, industrial and other facilities.

She previously served AECOM as a Transportation Project Engineer. Her most recent work includes “extensive service to Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), where she performed and supported key initiatives that enhanced the agency’s ability to deliver mobility improvements in greater Baltimore, such as construction management, vehicle procurement, system expansion, security upgrades and more.”

At HNTB, Ungerer will continue supporting MTA and work collaboratively to deliver key transit and transportation programs for other clients.

In addition to her transit background, Ungerer’s professional experience includes designing and specifying hardware and software for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems and communication networks. She also has design and systems experience with municipal water/wastewater facilities. She earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from California State University – Fresno.
