NJT looks to Lookman Fazal as CIO

New Jersey Transit has appointed Lookman Fazal as Chief Information & Digital Officer.

Fazal has more than 20 years of information technology (IT) experience, most recently as the CIO of Lyndhurst, N.J.-based Argo Turboserve Corp.*, where he managed an employee base on three continents at 28 locations around the world. During his tenure, he launched several initiatives such as Datacenter in the Cloud, an SaaS (Software as a Service)-based patentable application, and achieved ISO 27001 certification, positioning Turboserve in the top 50% of companies in its field for securing customer data.

Prior to that, Fazal worked with several Fortune 500 companies in various leadership roles including EmblemHealth, one of the largest nonprofit health plans in the U.S., and Avaya, a multinational technology company specializing in business communications.

Fazal has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Ramapo College, a Master’s Degree in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a Mini-MBA for Technology Executives from Boston University.

*Argo Turboserve Corp. provides supply chain management, equipment integration, sourcing and distribution, and engineering services to aerospace, industrial, nuclear, government, and oil and gas industries. The company offers asset management programs, outsourced order fulfillment and customer service, inventory ownership and leasing, purchasing and vendor management services, warehousing and distribution, inventory optimization and forecasting, and consulting and customized solutions to the aerospace industry. It also provides sourcing and distribution, custom engineered packages, repairs and services, training and consulting, and sourcing and sales services.
