The Denton County Transportation Authority in Texas has tapped Paul Cristina as Deputy CEO, and Brittney M. Farr and Pamela Burns as Director of Government Relations and Director of Public Involvement and Communications, respectively.

DCTA runs the 21-mile A-Train commuter railroad (see map below) as well as the Denton and Lewisville Connect Bus, University of North Texas (UNT) Campus Shuttles, and North Texas Xpress commuter bus.

Paul Cristina joins DCTA from BNSF, where he led the Class I railroad’s engagement efforts with public agencies, directing new infrastructure project development and agreement execution. He has experience working with public and private railroads, regional transit agencies, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and other coalitions across North Texas.

Brittney Farr will lead DCTA’s local, state and federal legislative strategy. She served previously at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) as the primary liaison between the transit agency and its 13 service area cities. Farr developed a portfolio of regional projects including creation of the Southern Dallas County Inland Port Transportation Management Association (IPTMA) and management of the Legacy Area Transportation Management Association.

Pamela Burns will oversee DCTA’s community relations, public involvement, marketing, communications and public relations. Previously, she managed public involvement and community relations at NCTCOG and worked on branding and communication efforts related to air quality and transportation.

Raymond Suarez, CEO, DCTA

“Building a team of leaders representing a commitment to local communities and transit regionalism is a priority at DCTA,” DCTA CEO Raymond Suarez said. “With members from BNSF Railway, DART and the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the new leadership team at DCTA serves to guide the agency into the future as a trusted and valuable transit partner that works with local and regional leaders to help make North Texas more accessible and available to riders.”
