Christiana Cameron on May 8 joined the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) as Chief Financial Officer.

Previously, Cameron held the same position at the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) in Washington, D.C. She was responsible for finance, accounting, budgeting, internal controls, audit, IT, human resources, risk management and contracts. Cameron has also served as Principal of Beckwith Cameron, LLC, providing strategic and operational expertise to diverse clients, and as Vice President of Finance and Administration for America’s Natural Gas Alliance, managing internal operations, including accounting and finance, human resources, contracts, facilities and IT.

“We are excited that Christiana will be joining APTA to lead our finance and information technology departments,” APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas said. “Her extensive experience in all phases of financial management in the private and non-profit sectors will serve APTA and our industry well.”

In a related development, APTA last month released six workforce development mini guides for public transportation leaders.
