Amtrak on Sept. 6 announced the recipients of its President’s Service and Safety Awards (PSSA), described as “the highest recognition given to Amtrak employees.” The awards were recently distributed to more than 50 employees during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

“The annual program honors those who perform far beyond the expected duties and responsibilities of their jobs, and who make outstanding contributions to improve the efficiency, economy, safety and service of Amtrak’s operations, as well as embrace the values of the corporation,” Amtrak said in announcing the recipients (full list, below).

PSSA award categories were in achievement, customer service, leadership, innovation, safety, and top performer. The employees were recognized for a number of achievements, including “improving onboard announcements, enhancing amenities for customers, producing materials for trains at a competitive cost, and providing excellent customer service.”
