Zafar Alikhan joins Parsons Brinckerhoff

Zafar Alikhan has been named a Senior Transit & Rail Manager in the Los Angeles office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Alikhan will manage transit projects in Southern California, including light rail, bus rapid transit, and streetcars.

Alikhan has more than 20 years of experience managing transit planning, design, and construction projects. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a Vice President and National Transit & Environmental Segment Manager in the Los Angeles office of David Evans and Associates, Inc., an Oregon-based engineering firm, leading efforts for transit in California and across the U.S. He was also Transportation Practice Leader Southeast U.S. at Jacobs Carter Burgess, and Business Development Lead Middle East & North Africa at Parsons International.

Alikhan received a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Michigan and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. He served as a member of the national steering committee of the Rail-Volution conference from 2011 through 2014 and is a member of the American Public Transportation Association.
