The TransLink Board of Directors has appointed Don Rose as its new Chair, effective Jan. 1, 2016. Rose, a senior corporate lawyer in Vancouver, has been a director on the TransLink board for the past five years.

“Our outgoing Chair Barry Forbes has been a strong advocate for TransLink during a particularly difficult time in the organization’s history,” Rose said. “Under Barry’s leadership, the new Executive Compensation Plan was approved by the Mayors’ Council, which was a significant accomplishment. “ “As the incoming Chair, my priorities will be focusing the organization on building public trust and confidence in TransLink, bringing a new CEO into the organization, and continuing to improve the working relationship with mayors across the region,” Rose said.

“TransLink is a large, complex organization with a wide-ranging mandate, and I am honored to have served as Chair,” Forbes said. “Close to one million people depend on our transit services every day, and TransLink also plays a vital role as the Pacific Gateway to overseas markets, by facilitating the efficient movement of goods and services across the region.”

“Don’s extensive corporate experience as well as his significant knowledge about TransLink will be very helpful to the organization as he steps into the role of Chair,” Forbes added.
