Torsiello Joins HNTB as Senior Project Manager

HNTB Corporation (HNTB) on May 15 announced that Michael Torsiello, PE, PMP, has joined the firm as Senior Project Manager and Associate Vice President.

According to HNTB, Torsiello, who will be based in the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office, will be responsible for supporting major transportation projects in Southern California, including the Eastside Transit Corridor for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).

Prior to joining HNTB, Torsiello worked for another engineering consulting firm where he worked on LA Metro’s Westside Purple Line Extension project for more than seven years in multiple technical and project management roles. In those roles, he managed the discipline leads for the design of all the temporary and permanent aspects of a heavy-rail subway system, including twin bore tunnels, cross passages and underground stations. He has experience in project management, bid documents for alternative delivery, design of underground structures, third-party coordination and real estate acquisitions.

Torsiello earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and a Master of Science in geotechnical engineering from Tufts University in Massachusetts. He is a licensed professional civil engineer in California and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
