How is the rail industry attracting and retaining top young talent? What are the industry’s immediate and long-term needs? What are the most promising growth sectors? Why should you make a long-term career out of the rail industry? Discover the answers to these questions and more at Railway Age Young Professionals—the industry’s first-ever conference for “fast trackers” in the freight, passenger and supply sectors looking to advance their careers. Here are four additional reasons to attend this no-cost virtual event, to be held May 11:

1. Some of the industry’s younger C-suite executives—including Genesee & Wyoming CEO John C. Hellmann, Amtrak EVP and Chief Human Resource Officer Qiana Spain, and Watco CEO Dan Smith—plus recipients of our 25 Under 40 Awards will share their experiences and describe how you can grow in your own career.

2. Railway Age Young Professionals will delve into career opportunities in several key rail industry sectors:

  • Communications/Signaling/Information Technology/Digitalization
  • Mechanical (Locomotives & Cars, Maintenance & Overhaul, AI, Digitization)
  • Marketing and Service Design
  • Engineering (Maintenance-of-Way)
  • Finance

3. Gain insight into the industry’s networking and career development opportunities—from Employee Research Groups (ERGs) and mentorships to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

4. Ask our experienced younger rail industry professionals your own questions!
