Registration Open for 2023 IWC

MxV Rail (formerly TTCI) and Amsted Rail will host the 20th International Wheelset Congress (IWC), to be held May 8-11 in Chicago. Registration is now open.

UNIFE and its ERWA (European Railway Wheels Association) committee are the four-day event’s organizers.

IWC will focus on the latest technologies and advancements of rail wheelset components and performance, with a goal of increasing the productivity, efficiency and safety of a variety of rail modes, according to MxV Rail. The theme of the event, featuring 70-plus technical papers from 20 countries, is “Interdependent Ecosystem of Wheelsets.”

IWC is expected to draw more than 300 attendees from worldwide freight, passenger and transit railways, including operators; equipment builders; component suppliers; academia; government; and regulatory and standards organizations. Traditionally convened once every three years, this is the first time IWC has been hosted in North America since 2004. The 19th IWC was held in Venice, Italy in 2019. It was hosted by Lucchini RS
