Railway Age is now accepting entries for its 2021 “Fast Trackers” 20 Under 40 awards, in which we will profile 20 individuals under the age of 40 who have made an impact in their respective fields or within their company. For our fifth annual awards, we have increased the number of honorees from 10 to 20, due to a growing number of entries and outstanding candidates. Once again, Michigan State Center for Railway Research & Education Director Nick Little will judge the entries. Those representing the “best of the best” will be featured in Railway Age’s February 2021 issue. The deadline is Jan. 7, 2021.

“With so many impressive young railroaders in the North American freight and passenger industry today, it has been difficult to select just 10,” says Little. “We are pleased to increase the number of honorees to 20 this year, so we can showcase how their developing expertise and leadership skills will help carry our industry into the future. One of railroading’s most valuable assets is the vast amount of institutional knowledge held by its people. It is heartening to see how today’s diverse young leaders are contributing to it and making an impact in their fields and in society. We expect even more entries this year.”

  • The nominee must be located in the United States, Canada and/or Mexico.
  • The nominee must be under the age of 40 as of January 1, 2021.

  • Candidates may nominate themselves.
