Pacific Harbor Line (PHL) recently released a video showcasing its “commitment to its critical role in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach as the first and last mile of the global economy.”

The video highlights PHL and its accolades, such as:

  • Every year, 40,000 individual railcars are loaded with a range of commodities.
  • It keeps 5,000 trucks off the roads and highways daily.
  • It has Class I partners Union Pacific (UP) and BNSF.
  • PHL moves 2 million containers annually, and serves nine intermodal terminals and more than 20 carload facilities.
  • It’s one of six railroads owned by Anacostia Rail Holdings.

The video can be seen in its entirety here.

“PHL is one of the busiest short line railroads in the nation,” said Kimia Khatami, Director of Customer Service, PHL. “We operate around the clock, 24 hours, seven days a week. We’re able to handle these record volumes thanks to the efficiencies afforded by the Alameda Corridor; it has a 10-mile underground trench that acts as a railroad freeway.”
