Bryant McCuan has joined Indiana Rail Road Company (INRD) as Assistant Vice President of Engineering. Also, Frank Van Veldhuijzen will lead rail projects for AutoFill Technologies, an automated track, vehicle and tunnel inspection system supplier.

At the 500-mile INRD, Bryant McCuan will work with Vice President of Engineering Peter Ray to oversee not only track infrastructure throughout southwest Indiana and eastern Illinois, but also the development and implementation of capital improvement plans. He served previously at CN, rising through the ranks from Track Laborer, Track Foreman, Bridgeman and Carpenter to Welding Supervisor, Track Supervisor and Senior Manager of Engineering.

“Bryant’s extensive engineering and rail experience in addition to his unparalleled development and mentoring skills make him an advantageous fit for INRD,” said Dewayne Swindall, President and CEO of INRD, Railway Age’s 2012 and 2018 Regional Railroad of the Year. “His addition to the team further strengthens our growth plans.”

At Dutch firm AutoFill Technologies, Frank van Veldhuijzen will lead rail projects, including delivery of a joint initiative with the Utah Transit Authority and the University of Utah to inspect tracks using combined heat and vision technologies.

With more than a decade of infrastructure management experience, he has held positions at Dutch transport ministry ProRail, where he helped oversee maintenance and extension work across the national rail network; and at contracting firm ASSET Rail.

“Frank brings a wealth of public- and private-sector expertise and experience having played a key role in using technology to find innovative solutions, for the Dutch government to deliver efficient and world-leading maintenance and infrastructure, whilst also maintaining the highest standards of health and safety,” AutoFill CEO and Co-founder Gideon Richheimer said.
