OL Canada's latest campaign features Reb (Rebel) and takes a light-hearted approach to educating young Canadians about rail safety.

Operation Lifesaver (OL) Canada launched on Aug. 10 a new animated rail-safety campaign for young Canadians.

The campaign, “Seriously. Read the Signs,” which OL Canada said “takes on a light-hearted approach,” is designed to appeal to youth between 13 and 24, and consists of three short, animated videos featuring Reb (Rebel), “a mischievous character who ignores the everyday signs in his imaginary world and ends up taking some very unexpected turns as a result. (Think: alien encounter and jelly bath).”

OL says it will be promoting the campaign on social media throughout August, “in the hopes of reaching as many young Canadians as possible.”

“Our hope is that by creating a humorous and quirky campaign, we can make youth think twice about ignoring the rail safety rules–and signs–that are in place to keep them safe,” says Sarah Mayes, National Director of OL Canada.
