Michael Keroullé has joined Alstom as President of the Americas Region, becoming a member of the company’s Executive Committee and Leadership Team.

Appointed July 1, Keroullé is responsible for the execution of the “Alstom in Motion” strategy in the Americas and the region’s commercial and operational performance, as well as the continued regional integration of Bombardier Transportation. (Alstom completed its $6.68 billion acquisition of Bombardier Transportation in January, cementing its position as the second largest rail manufacturer in the world after CRRC.) He reports to Alstom CEO and Board Chairman Henri Poupart-Lafarge.

With 24 years of regional and global leadership experience, Keroullé served previously as President and CEO of General Electric (GE) Steam Power, a $4.5 billion energy-sector business with 10,000 employees in 60 countries. Additionally, he has held the positions of Chief Commercial Officer for GE Steam Power, and General Manager/Managing Director in the Middle East, India and Europe for Alstom Power, which was acquired by GE in 2015. He has also worked for Lurgi.

Alstom noted that through each of his leadership roles, Keroullé has “gained a track record of driving customer centricity and operational rigor to deliver solid results for customers and for his business, building and leading diverse and multicultural high impact teams through important transformations, including post-merger integration.”

In other developments, Alstom recently acquired two companies, Helion Hydrogen Power and Flertex, that it says will enhance its initiatives in hydrogen fuel cell power and braking systems, respectively.
