The new Building Engineering Services unit will work on multi-disciplinary projects such as complex data centers, according to HDR Canada.

HDR Canada has formed a dedicated Building Engineering Services business group.

The move follows the July 2019 acquisition of Hurley Palmer Flatt Group, a U.K.-based independent engineering consultancy, which expanded HDR Canada’s multi-disciplinary building engineering services.

The new Building Engineering Services group brings together project experts—from transit facilities and industrial installations to commercial and institutional buildings—for mechanical, plumbing electrical, structural and civil engineering work.

“One important area for growth is in mission-critical facilities such as complex data centers, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainable, green building design,” HDR Canada reported.

The group’s key team leaders include: Neil MacDonald, Business Group Manager; Kevin Henry, Senior Mechanical Engineer; Najib Maliyar, Senior Mechanical Engineer; Alireza Deghani, Senior Structural Engineer; and Tina (Hua) Tian, Senior Electrical Engineer.
