Redwood Logistics (Redwood) has announced the appointment of Scott Cousins as the company’s new chief technology officer.

In his new role, Cousins is tasked with designing, developing and supporting the technology solutions required to drive Redwood Logistics’ operating excellence, innovation and growth, the company said.

Cousins is expected to provide the experience and leadership needed to continue Redwood’s development of technology services for the freight management industry, Redwood said.

Cousins most recently served as the chief information officer at Roadrunner Transportation, where he managed the company’s digital transformation, including an overhaul of the company’s primary operational platforms for its brokerage and carrier operating entities.

Before he joined Roadrunner, Cousins spent a decade as the chief information officer for KeHE Distributors.

During that time, officials said he guided the company through two major acquisitions and revamped multiple systems. Officials said his digital initiatives and leadership experience benefitted various customer, vendor, broker and employee interactions throughout his career.

“Scott’s demonstrative success as not only a strategic innovator with proven business results, but also as a leader who fosters cultural growth and refinement, makes him truly unique within this industry,” said Mark Yeager, CEO of Redwood Logistics. “We could not be more excited to have Scott join Redwood during this time of expansion and opportunity. He will be integral in solidifying Redwood’s standing as a disruptor and a next-generation freight management platform.”

Cousins explained he has enjoyed working across all areas of business with a focus on empowering technology teams to become more agile and effective.

“Redwood has established itself firmly at the forefront of technical transformation in the 3PL space,” Cousins said. “I’m eager to work with a team that has collectively brought holistic and creative technology solutions to an industry that is defined by continuous change.”
