AECOM on March 26 named Beth McCluskey Associate Vice President, Director of Business Development, Transit and Freight Rail of the global infrastructure service firm’s Chicago office.

McCluskey has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation industry in Illinois. She began her career in local government transportation planning and programming before landing at Metra as Department Head for Capital Program Development. She most recently served as the Director of the Office of Intermodal Project Implementation at the Illinois Department of Transportation, where she led myriad statewide transit, rail and aeronautics projects and programs.

McCluskey holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is also an active member of the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, was co-chair of the 2015 International WTS Conference and received its 2016 Woman of the Year honor. In addition, she serves as chair of the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Commission and is a member of the League of Railway Women.

“Beth will be a great asset to our freight and transit market sectors; providing our team expertise on funding, financing and implementation of intermodal projects with multiple stakeholders,” said Alanna Strohecker, AECOM Vice President, Freight Rail Market Sector Lead, Americas. “She brings a new perspective on how our freight rail and DOT clients want to improve the U.S. infrastructure through specific projects and initiatives.”
