“After consultation with a number of stakeholders, we have decided for the safety of our attendees and conference staff to switch to a virtual event for Fall 2020,” the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign said. “Our sincere thanks to all for completing our survey about the best way to proceed with the RREC this year. After reviewing the results of that, and in consultation with the AAR Environmental Affairs Committee and the RREC Planning Committee, we have developed a plan for an abbreviated virtual event. It will feature two half-days of technical presentations that we are calling the Virtual Railroad Environmental Seminar.

“We are committed to our mission of serving and supporting the advancement of the railroad environmental community.”
