TNW Selects TekTracking’s TIMPS for Track Inspection, Maintenance

Written by David C. Lester, Engineering Editor and Editor-in-Chief, Railway Track & Structures

Privately held TNW Corporation (TNW), which owns three short line railroads and transportation logistics companies in Texas, has selected railroad asset management technology development company TekTracking LLC’s TIMPS platform to manage track inspection, maintenance and scheduling activities across all its railroads.

TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) “revolutionizes all aspects of track maintenance,” TekTracking said. “It augments a railroad’s current track and roadbed inspection process while providing digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support failure trend analysis analytics. TIMPS accelerates the manual processes and adds to the efficiency, worker safety and accuracy of track maintenance while ensuring all inspections occur per the frequency prescribed by the railroad and FRA Part 213 requirements.”

“TekTracking is pleased with our new relationship with TNW Corporation and is excited to see TIMPS rolled out across all TNW railroads,” said TekTracking CEO Gregory Fogarty. ”Our system will allow TNW to efficiently supplement their track inspection and maintenance practices and will provide them a real time overview of the health of all track assets.”

“TNW strives to remain at the forefront of technology,” said TNW Director of Infrastructure & Strategic Initiatives Doug Campbell. “Implementing TekTracking’s TIMPS software will help us maintain our infrastructure to the highest level and provide a seamless experience for our customers.”
