R.J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC has appointed Edward Quinn III as President and CEO, effective Oct. 24, 2016. He succeeds Fred Mudge, who has been serving as Interim President and CEO since Craig King retired in June. Mudge will continue to serve as chairman of the R. J. Corman Board of Directors.

Quinn returns to R.J. Corman, where he served as general manager of the Material Sales Company and later as vice president of R.J. Corman Derailment Services, LLC. Most recently, Quinn was vice president of Big Ass Fans, a manufacturer of large-scale commercial and residential fans. R.J. Corman said he has “diverse experience in engineering, marketing and sales and the management of geographically dispersed operations teams.”

“Speaking on behalf of the R.J. Corman Board of Directors and Trustees, we are delighted to welcome Mr. Quinn to serve as our President and CEO,” said Sandra Adams, member of the Board of Trustees. “Having worked with Mr. Quinn previously, I am confident he is the right leader for our company moving forward. Ed has the intellect and integrity to lead our company, as well as the passion for our employees and customers that is necessary for continued improvement.”

“Mr. Quinn’s leadership ability in conjunction with his innovative, customer-first mindset will allow our company to improve our synergistic relationships with our customers,” said Mudge. “I look forward to working with Ed as we grow through our foundational principles of safe, efficient and reliable service to the railroad and related industries.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue [Rick] Corman’s vision,” stated Quinn. “The R.J. Corman family of companies is known for its exceptional customer focus and the diversity of services it provides. I am committed to upholding the company’s core values and working with our employees to achieve our growth initiatives.”

Company founder Rick Coorman died in 2013.
